FAQs
How do I comment or provide input on an application?
Depending on the type of application, there may or may not be an opportunity for public input. For example, a Development Permit application without any variances to City bylaws does not include an opportunity for public input because Council must only consider whether the proposal complies with the applicable design guidelines. Community members can influence what the design guidelines say by participating in updates to the Official Community Plan and City bylaws. Where public input is being sought for an application (e.g. temporary use permits, rezoning, or variances), the City will notify affected residents, usually through newspaper advertisements and/or mailouts. A sign may also be posted on the property. Opportunities for public input will not be posted on this page.
