Key Dates

The City selected McElhanney Ltd. as the multi-disciplinary design firm to undertake the detailed design, tendering, and contract administration.

Council directed staff to incorporate feedback on the design from the Committee of the Whole.  This includes 12 design considerations and refinements.

The Committee reviewed the concept plans and provided feedback to staff on potential refinements and adjustments to the concept plan to be taken into consideration in the detailed design.

The Government of B.C. announced approval of $1 million in funding for the Project under the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program. Read PRESS RELEASE

The City received detailed design drawings from the consultant. 

The tender for was posted to BC Bid. 

The City received bids from qualified contractors, but all bids came in over budget. The City will need to redesign elements of the plan to reduce costs, and then retender the project.

The City will work on a redesign to achieve a comparable result while bringing costs down.
